Pre Op

• Complete the Patient Registration form as well as an admission form (you will receive both from your specialist)
• Return the completed Registration form to the day surgery either personally (7am – 5pm) or via mail or fax (details on contact us page) well before the day of your procedure
• You will receive a call from one of our receptionists, 1 to 2 days prior to your procedure, confirming your admission time and outlining any likely costs
• If you are having a gastroscopy/colonoscopy please carefully follow the preparation instructions given to you by your specialist
• For all other procedures: If you are having a procedure in the morning, do not eat or drink after midnight. If your procedure is in the afternoon, you may have a light breakfast of black tea or coffee and 1 slice of toast with light spread, however do not eat or drink after 7am. This includes no chewing gum or lollies
• Children should fast per written instructions
• You should take essential medication (eg heart and blood pressure) with a sip of water before leaving home. If you are diabetic, do not take your medication however, please make sure you bring it and all other medications with you to the Day Surgery
• It is essential that you notify the manager or reception prior to admission if you are sensitive to Latex
• Do not smoke for at least 12 hours prior to your procedure
• If there is any change in your condition prior to the day of your procedure (eg cold or fever) please inform your specialist
