We value the patient as the most important person, therefore it is important that you understand your rights and responsibilities whilst in our care…

You have the right

To be treated with dignity and courtesy and have your ethnic, cultural and religious beliefs respected
To be kept informed on and involved in decisions with: current options about your illness, treatment and care in language you can understand
To be informed about costs, facilities and services
To privacy and confidentiality of your personal information (contact us for a copy of our privacy statement / policy)
To know the names and roles of the caregivers involved in your care
To refuse treatment. However you must accept the associated risks and sign a form accepting responsibility
To express your opinion by making suggestions or complaints in the patient feedback forms. Should you wish to take your concern further ask to speak to the Director of Nursing or Manager
Children have the right to be treated as an individual with unique needs according to their stage of development. Parents Guardians are encouraged to remain with their child where suitable.

Your responsibilities are

To inform medical/nursing staff of your medical history and any medications you are taking

To follow medical/nursing directions given for treatment and to question what is said to you if you do not understand

To consider the needs of other patients while observing levels of noise and CWDS policies

To treat healthcare workers with respect and courtesy

To respond to correspondence and timely completion of any forms for the Day Surgery
